Installation accuracy verification method

  1. For some high-precision imported bearings, their matching requirements are also very high, regarding the matching of precision bearings.
  2. The traditional application of precision bearings is machine tool spindles, which have different requirements according to different processes. Generally speaking, the lathe spindle is used to cut metal at a lower speed and a larger cutting load. This type of spindle usually transmits drive torque through a pulley or a gear. This means that the load on the drive end of the spindle is also quite large.
  3. Such applications require less speed, and the more important parameters are stiffness and load carrying capacity. A very common method is to install a single row cylindrical roller bearing and a double row angular contact thrust ball bearing at the working end of the main shaft, while using a double row cylindrical roller bearing at the driving end of the main shaft. This configuration can ensure a long working life and excellent rigidity, thus producing high-quality workpieces. Moreover, from the perspective of kinematics, the bearing can work stably, because the two types of bearings (radial and axial) bear the load applied to the main shaft respectively (in fact, in order to prevent the angular contact thrust ball bearing from bearing the radial load, the foreign outer diameter has a special tolerance to ensure that it will never contact the bearing seat).
  4. When designing these types of spindles (which is usually applicable to heavy loads), a rule of thumb about where the bearing is located on the shaft is that the distance between the centers of the front and rear supports is 3-3.5 times the inner diameter of the bearing.
  5. When higher speeds are required (i.e. high-speed machining centers or internal grinding), different bearing solutions need to be found. Obviously, in these cases, a little sacrifice needs to be made in terms of stiffness and bearing capacity. High speed applications usually use direct drive spindles (so-called motorized spindles) that are driven by direct motors and / or couplings.
